Enveloped in trees
Our guests agree: Brookhill Lodge offers a tranquil escape from daily worries. Tucked away amidst the picturesque Fermanagh hills, this hidden gem lets you bask in nature's beauty and the magic of our changing seasons.
Mesmerised by her presence, I observed in silence as she gracefully roamed the lodge for a few moments, a fleeting yet enchanting encounter.
When you visit Brookhill Lodge there are many local flora and fauna that if your lucky you might catch a glimpse of, from our resident Red Squirrels to perhaps hearing the distinctive sound of the Cuckoo in June.
The changing seasons bring an ever changing landscape of nature. Having established a pond, that you can overlook form the Lodge, we’ve had frogs, newts, tadpoles, Heron’s and we expect even more visits as it matures over the coming years.
When nature arrives…
One tranquil afternoon, as I sat quietly on the lodge's decking, a graceful female deer caught my gaze, meeting my eyes with a gentle curiosity.
Mesmerized by her presence, I observed in silence as she gracefully roamed the lodge for a few moments, a fleeting yet enchanting encounter.
Fortunately, my phone lay within reach, allowing me to capture her delicate movements in the natural surroundings.
Should you be fortunate, you too may be graced with a similar glimpse of these majestic creatures wandering outside the lodge.
“When despair for the world grows in me I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free..”
— Wendell Berry "The Peace of Wild Things"
